Have you ever thrown an early surprise birthday party for someone and up-aged them by two years? I have.



I made neon signs with foamy sticky letters, put out some candy, lit a gardenia scented candle and played a fave dvd of Marilyn's. The playlist was handcrafted during the week and the fridge stocked with beer



We played Cranium and Rummy. Cranium is really fun but REALLY involved. I suggest teams of 3, it makes it less competitive. Rummy is my all time favorite card game

Since I knew I would have more than 10 guests, so I ordered the La Gigante pizza from La Pizza Loco. Cooking for this many people in a small apartment and 12 different schedules is crazy talk




Every birthday girl needs a special birthday hat. I made this from a mini straw hat I bought at Michael's craft store, a feather, elastic string and more sticky letters



Sorry Marilyn I added 2 years to your actual age. Thanks for being such a trooper. You managed to play along long enough and wear inaccurate accoutrements. From here on out I will remember your age until the day I die
