4 FLEA MARKET RUNDOWN

Here is my Sunday four flea markets rundown! If you're in the L.A area then mark these down on your Sunday shopping schedule!

Melrose Trading Post is on every Sunday! It's $2 to get in and you get a free lollipop! You get a stamp so you can go in and out. It's mostly clothing, jewelry, tad bit of furniture and bits and bobs. I feel a lot of the stuff is overpriced because sellers take advantage of the Melrose shopping crowd. I have got some great vintage dresses here though! They have BBQ which smells inviting and a little old jazzy type band playing. The best thing about Melrose flea is that you can bring your dog. I've trained Brixton to do the puppy eyes when I'm in mid haggle!

Melrose Trading Post
Fairfax High School
7850 Melrose Ave
Los Angeles, CA 90036
Open from 9am - 5pm

Pasadena City College Flea market
is open on the first Sunday of each month. It's FREE to get in and parking is $2.00. Part of the flea market is in their car park, which provides some shade from the L.A sun! There aren't many furniture vendors as most stalls sell antiques, knick knacks, books, records and vintage clothes. There are food vendors around, so grab some brekkie while you peruse the finds! No dogs allowed.

Pasadena City College Flea Market
1570 E Colorado Boulevard
Pasadena, CA 91106
Open 8:00am - 3:00pm

Rose Bowl Flea market takes place on the second Sunday of the month. Its MASSIVE! There is a vintage clothing section over the bridge, which is ace. Be prepared to sift through piles of clothing to find those gems! Around the outisde of the bowl there are vendors selling crafts and new stuff, although I don't usually bother with looking round there much. Plenty of furniture and antiques in the main section of the market. However most of it is overpriced. A lot of the vendors have their own retro furniture stores, etc s they know what they are selling is worth a bit. So it's not really a bargain flea market but more of place where you can find vintage stuff in one spot. There are food vendors and a make your own Bloody Mary truck which is brill! The Beef Jerky hut is amazing!!! Best jerky EVER! Well it bloody well should be for $16.00 a pack! (They do have testers btw!) I realized that its not a good idea to go to Rose Bowl in the summer months. It's so HOT that its hard to muster up enough energy to rummage through the items. If you do head there in the heat remember to apply your sunblock and wear big hat! Regular admission starts at 9:00am at $8.00 per person. Express price costs $10.00 from 8:00am - 9:00am, and early admission from 7:00am - 8:00am at $15.00 per person. If you a VIP bargain hunter its $20,00 for preview at 5:00am - 7:00am. No pets :-(

Long Beach Flea Market is held on the third Sunday of every month. It's HUGE so their is a good range of bargains to be had. All round good variety of goods and quite a few sellers are up for the haggle! If you get there before 6:30am (why?) then it's $10.00 admission. After 6:30am its $5.00. Unfortunately no pets are allowed except guide dogs.
