GIRLY WEEKEND IN SAN FRANCISCO

An impromtu work jaunt had me taking a trip back to San Francisco for a weekend with the girlies. You know you've got good mates when they pick you up from the airport and treat you to a mani & pedi straight off!

Stayed at Rebecca's new flat in the Mission. They have a communal outside area, which is rare in this city.

Rebecca's neighbours just happen to be her friends too, so it ended up a bit like Melrose Place innit! Although in SF they had a fire pit instead of a jacuzzi!

Bicycles are nicecyles!

We took a trip to Wholefoods to pick up groceries for that night's dinner party.

Fresh butternut squash ravioli with sage and parmesan

Chicken and veggie skewers

Spinach and strawberry salad with edible flowers

Putting on some tunes

It was a fun filled night that involved guzzling Magners, a boogie to some Justin Timberlake songs, Little Princess nostalgia around the fire pit, ukulele jam and recording session in the loo and waaaaaay too much tequila!

After breakfast at St. Francis and a $3 buck sunglasses purchase, I went to do a voice-over job for an hour. Met up with the girls and we decided to take advantage of the sunshine and relax in the park with the dogs.

Quito catching up on the latest gossip and fashion trends.

I wish all days were like this....

That night we headed over to Vannessa's armed with our appetite's and ready for a Mexican fiesta! Julie made a refreshing cabbage salad and Rebecca made a yummy potato salad.

Heidi whipped up a gluten free (!) strawberry shortcake. (Recipe to follow shortly...)

The feast consisted of pinto beans

Carnitas which had been cooking all day...

Mexican rice, homemade tortillas and salsa. Vannessa even took the time to make me some special gluten free tortillas which were made with chick pea flour!

The genius chef herself!

I loaded my plate up! I couldn't eat everything so I saved it and had the rest after we went to the pub!

I miss you San Francisco girlies! I had an amazing time! Cheers!
