ST. FRANCIS FOUNTAIN
St. Francis Fountain is an old school ice cream parlour that serves ice cream, milkshakes, fountain drinks and diner style food.During the time that I lived in San Francisco I never managed to get into this place because there is always a bloody massive queue outside! But I found out a special tip to skip the queue...go on the Saturday morning that the Carnival parade is on! Everyone steers clear of this area in fear of of getting caught up in the parade madness. Luckily St. Francis is just on the edge of where the parade floats, so we snuck in and got seated straight away! Woohoo! (Ok so the Carnival is on once a year...but no queue innit!)
I was in full on brekkie (which is served all day - yay!) mode, so I skipped the ice cream and went for an omelette with a side of corn beef hash. I didn't realise that the omelette came with homefries, so ended up with two lots of potatoes! Whoops!
They have a collection of retro stickers and sweets on display.
That was my soy chai tea latte. Sorry but I was proper thirsty and couldn't even wait to take a photee first!
They offer lots of veggie/vegan options and even soy gelato substitute for fountain drinks. Thank you St. Francis!
Yummy Factor: Yumm-diddley-ummm-tumm tumm!
Pocket: I got me some change too!
Service: With a smile :-)
Atmosphere: American retro loveliness!
