Blu La Cafe

126 E 6th St
Los Angeles, CA 90014

Fantastic lunch spot for downtowners. The burgers are "award winning" according to the heavy signage in the area and it's next door to Cole's French Dip.

Yummy Factor: The patty is light and juicy, buns are buttery and perfectly buoyant. They were heavy handed with the blue cheese crumbles and this girl was happy about that. The side mixed greens with the house vinaigrette was very fresh and lightly dressed.

Pocket: Average burger price is $11. They have beer and wine, so if you're on a date you can still eat cheap and tasty.

Service: Iced tea remained full

Atmosphere: The waitresses, along with the obscure decor, have some curious styling choices. Not bad, just not waitress traditional. Cute summer striped bloomer shorts, white knee highs, maryjanes and a sheer silk tee over a tank top with the cafe's logo. The "new school", "street style" art didn't quite make sense mixed with pseudo hippy new age "inspired" images. A few flat screens were on for the lunch crowd, but people do love watching the World Cup.

All interior indiscretions aside, we all LOVED our fancy cheeseburgers and all agreed we would come back on another lunch field trip

Two fangs out
