MIKAWAYA MOCHI ICE CREAM

Katie, Ryan, Delilah and I decided to do lunch in Little Tokyo. We discovered Mikawaya in the Japanese Village in Little Tokyo and we decided that mochi-ice cream would be the perfect appetizer to our lunch! The Mikawaya shop serves a variety of fresh mochi ice-cream and mochi-lato (mochi gelato), as well as non-frozen mochi and other Japanese pastries! Mikawaya also sells mochi ice-cream at Trader Joes and other Asian supermarkets in the States.

I tried creme brulee mochi-lato, which tasted very similar to the vanilla mochi ice-cream that Delilah had. Katie chose the coconut mochi-lato which was delicious!! I think the Hubby would like the cookies and cream and my Mum would love the Kona coffee flavour!

I would recommend Mikawaya to everyone, even to those mochi first timers amongst you!

Yummy Factor: Oishi!!!!!!!!!!!

Pocket: Pretty cheap @ $1 - $1.25 a pop! Remember to bring cash as they do not take credit cards.

Service: Sweet and friendly with kids!

Atmosphere: The place wasn't busy when we went. But we prefered to eat ice-cream outside in the sunshine!
