L.A CRAFT EXPERIENCE
L.A Craft Experience launches this month during Chinatown's Summer Nights events. Head to the Central Plaza and taste cuisine from all over the world and buy local arts and crafts! Sounds like my kinda event - food and shopping!
"LA Craft Experience debuts on August 14th and 28th from 5 p.m. to midnight alongside Chinatown Summer Nights. Chinatown Summer Nights, which takes place at Chinatown’s Central Plaza is a nighttime festival unlike any other! Part food event, part summer party, Chinatown Summer Nights presents an exciting hot spot for Angelenos this August. Taste the many culinary offerings of Chinatown and LA’s gourmet food trucks; sample the neighborhood’s wares; watch Chinese chefs perform cooking demonstrations; experience large-scale, outdoor video projections; view site-specific public art; take part in hands-on, Chinese cultural workshops presented by local organizations and museums; sip on Chinese beer, shop at LA Craft Experience and dance in Central Plaza with KCRW’s DJs: Raul Campos, Anthony Valadez, Jeremy Sole and Aaron Byrd.
After Chinatown Summer Nights, LACE will occur the Second Saturday of each month beginning Oct. 9 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Chinatown’s Central Plaza. Support local businesses and skip the mall! LACE brings together all that is unique and wonderful about Los Angeles to you!."

BUILD A GINGERBREAD HOUSE
A new Christmas tradition began this year - gingerbread house making! All you need is friends and lots and lots of sweets!
We used graham crackers and wafers for the walls and icing for the cement. You could bake your own gingerbread too if you have time. Make sure to make the icing nice and thick so it really sticks the house together. A piping bag is great for decorating the house.
Get inventive and bling out your house with gold coin wrappers!
Buy sweets that will work for the different parts of your house. The shortbread pattern was perfect for the door of the house!
Reminds me of Grauman's Chinese theatre but with added garden and guest house!
